Love Point

Take me there
where
there is nowhere
except the beginning
ending every sense
of since
and when
and then,

where now is
not even now

because the only point of reference

that knows
no begin
or end
or sensation of cessation

is love.

  1. I like very much the sense of paradox around which the poem is constructed. Whilst ‘love’ as its destination comes as no surprise, the route taken towards it is beguiling.

  2. I love the wordplay in this, the internal rhythms of rhyme and meanings dancing in their own circles, near, almost touching, then stretching beyond but never quite out of reach. I must admit though, I am skeptical about the existence of this still point of reference … (a slight paraphrase of your own words, my apologies). Great poem!!

    • :0) mayhaps it is a moving stillness? like water can seem to be when flowing more slowly along a steady course but pooling here and there and yet slowly flowing along. ah but if you mean you’re skeptical of love itself all i can say is …. hmmm.

i appreciate your detailed perspective here…
