“True sanity entails in one way or another the dissolution of the normal ego, that False Self competently adjusted to our alienated social reality…and through this death a rebirth, the ego now being the servant of the divine, no longer its betrayer.” —R. D. Laing

I didn’t like the quote nearly as much as your title, which had my writer’s mind spinning in possibilities. 😉
:0) Nothin’ like exploring “sanity” and “insanity” eh?
This quote makes me smile, JRuth. How many times we steer off course. This is like a promise and we return to this so many times as we grow. Cool post.
Glad it made you smile. Was happy to find it particularly because of the emphasis on “our alienated social reality.” So few realize they take their cues from a system that requires what amounts to a Borg-like existence. Until life breaks us open with love, we are not real. Thankful for the love that has broken my heart open wide…
